Formatting
Business Plan
Time to cross the t's and dot the i's by putting it all together into one sweet document. Follow the steps and formatting guidelines listed below.
- Create a new Word document
- Save as > business-plan-final
Use the same formatting as you insert each of your completed assignments in the order listed below.
Required Formatting
Insert a Header
- Click the "Insert" tab
- Click "Header"
- Choose an appropriate style from the list
- Insert the following:
- Name of your business is required in the upper left header
- Your name in the upper right header
Insert a Footer Page Number
- Click the "Insert" tab again
- Click "Page Number"
- Select "Bottom of Page"
- Choose one of the centered options
Font Information
- Size: 12-point
- Type: Serif or san-serif – no cursive or decorative
- You may use a different type of font for the headings than you use for the body
- BE CONSISTENT!
Spacing
- Single-space sentences
- Double-space between paragraphs
- No widows or orphans (two lines of a section should always be present at page breaks)
- You can use either left or full justification
Paranthetical Citations
- Use APA style citations – see the References Guide for specific formatting
- Cite all maps, graphs, and images
