Business Plan
The Trade Show is designed to simulate how a business might promote itself to encourage individuals or investors to do business with their company.
Your role as a presenter will be to introduce your business and what it has to offer both the consuming public and the potential business investor.
You will have your own individual trade show booth and you will give a 6-minute presentation about your business 6 different times to 6 different groups.
Trade Show Booth Setup
You will have about 10 minutes to set up your booth at the beginnning of the period. Each booth is 6' wide x 4' deep x 8' tall. There are 3 sides to the booth with blackout cloth to separate from the other booths.
Each booth is provided with:
- A table
- A computer w/monitor
- Power
Decorating Your Booth is REQUIRED
Your booth needs to have at least 4 of the visual elements listed below:
- A banner or graphic with your logo
- A sample advertisement, i.e., print ad
- Sample product(s)
- Decorative items that represent your business
- A Powerpoint or video
- Promotional items
*Note: We have plastic display sleeves for 8.5" x 11" documents to display print ads, logos, etc.
Trade Show Presentation
You will give a 6-minute presentation about your business 6 different times to 6 different groups.
Review your Executive Summary – this is a great roadmap for how you should present your business.
Introduction
- Set the hook by explaining what makes your business unique, aweseome, in demand, revolutionary, essential – insert whatever word you think describes your business – in other words, hit the ground running with your enthusiasm for what you want to create and build.
Body
- Follow your intro with descriptions of your products and/or services – focus on their features and value to customers
- Describe the location of your business and how this location will enhance sales and/or the customer experience
- Describe your target market and how you arrived at characteristics of that target market, i.e, the demographics and psychographic
- Explain your pricing policies and how these policies reflect your target market
- Describe yoru promotional strategies
Conclusion
- End by describing why you feel you will be successful – correlate your skills, experience, and passion with your business idea and strategies you've laid out in your presentation
Trade Booth & Presentation Evaluation
During the Trade Show, your fellow students and I will evaluate you using the rubric below.
When not presenting, students are required to fill out an evaluation form for every presentation they watch. These will be collected at the end of each day.
Filling out the evaluation forms is a grade.
