Scripting Common Interview Questions

Scripting answers to common interview questions is an important strategy for performing well in an interview. It will help you relax and give you confidence – that awkward tension will feel diminished and set you up to have a better conversation with a potential manager/employer. However, this doesn't mean you bring a typed script to read from during the interview. The script is part one. Part two is internalizing the script. Remember, not all employers will ask the questions you scripted. The point of this exercise is to practice what you might say so you stay on track, don't wander in your answers, or cut them too short. Precision is key. Further, with a steady base to draw from, you won't feel so thrown off when an employer asks you an off-the-wall question you may not be expecting.

In a NEW Word Doc, answer the following questions below with detailed responses. Each answer must incorporate stories and/or examples about you and your experiences to illustrate the tips you studied:

  2. Have you ever done this type of work before?
  3. Why should we hire you instead of someone else? What are your greatest strengths
  4. What are your weaknesses?
  5. Give me an example of a time when you worked under pressure
  6. What are your long range goals?
  7. Why do you want to work here?
  8. What kind of salary do you expect?
