The Graphic Resume
The graphic resume puts a diffrent spin on a traditional resume. It's more visual and eye-catching than a traditional resume. While a graphic resume may not be appropriate for a traditional place of employment, it's definitely one gaining in popularity in the graphic design realm, marketing circles, and even entry-level job positions in customer service.
Content Guidelines
You must include the following (note: these are the same sections from your regular resume):
- A pic of you but it may be modified to be a graphic version, i.e., pop art, colored pencil filter, etc.
- Your name – address – contact info
- Profile
- Education
- Work Experience
- Activities and Community Involvement
- Computer Skills
- References (3 min)
- Graphics
Design Parameters
- Photoshop or Illustrator – Save as > PDF
- 8.5 inches x 11 inches – 300 resolution
- 1/4" bleed all the way around
- BE CONSISTENT – this means:
- Color Scheme
- Font Size
- Graphics
- Spacing
- Use a stroke around text where appropriate
- Drop shadows add a 3d element
