- 1st, brainstorm a list of people who come to mind that you would consider an outlier – examples from the book don't count
- 2nd, determine/define the criteria for labeling an individual as an outlier
- Think about the chapters we've read so far
- Chapter 1: Accumulative Advantage
- Chapter 2: 10,000 hours and the power of timing (or being in the right place at the right time)
- Chapter 3 & 4: Smart enough, no one does it alone, and childhood environment
- 3rd, read through your list of brainstorms – weed through the ones who you think don't meet your criteria
- 4th, select one individual you feel the most confident about who meets all your criteria
- Finally, draw this person as best you can and using the "Spider" method, illustrate their qualities as well as how you think they meet your criteria as an outlier for success
