For this project, you will create a series of posters – 5 total – that will outline the process, or the pathway to becoming an uber successful individual. This is a series, so each poster in the series should fit together – design-wise – as a whole.
Poster 5: The Importance of Cultural Legacies
How does one become an "Outlier"? By taking an honest look at where we come from. And not just that little house on Elm Street, but a deeper examination of our cultural values in the broader community we live in. And where did those values originate? Go back in time – where does your family hail from?
A cultural legacy can act like a wild card. When someone recognizes the importance of how it influences his/her life, it can propel him/her beyond that influence. However, it can also act as a self-fullfilling prophecy and drag a person into the same cycle from which it originates.
Guidelines and Parameters
- Document Size: 20" x 30" – 300 Resolution
- 1/4" bleed
- Establish a design theme you can use for each poster – keep in mind that each poster could be displayed side-by-side as a whole display
- Use a consistent font strategy – size and type
- Use consistent imagery – real pictures vs graphics
- Color scheme might help establish consistency but could be different as long as it's clear each poster fits together as a whole
- Keep text simple – you don't need to overload the poster with too much text – it's not an essay after all!
- Think Infographic style
- Correct Spelling is a MUST
