Pop Art File Management
In your U Drive, create a folder named "Pop Art"
This is where you will save all of your work for this trimester.
File Management SOP
- Each completed project should be saved in two formats: Adobie Ilustrator and JPEG.
- Name your projects correctly because I will not open files that do not have these names!
In this folder I want to see all of the assignments as an .ai file (Adobe Illustrator) AND a .jpeg version of the same project, they will both have the same name. If you don't know how to save a file as a JPEG the instructions are at the bottom of this page.
Converting Adobe Illustrator files to JPEG's
To do this follow these steps:
- Open the adobe illustrator file.
- File - Save as... make sure you are in the "Commercial Graphics and Design" folder in your U-Drive, otherwise you may not save the file to this location.
- With the file still open go to File - Save for Web & Devices... make sure the JPEG option is selected and click Save. It is OK that the name will be the same as the .ai version since they are in two different formats both will be saved.
You will repeat this process for each file, which will give you twice the number of files as the projects you have.
