Adobe Illustrator Drawing Introduction Level B

1 Lines

 

Open Adobe Illustrator

After you open Adobe Illustrator, open a new file. Title the file "2 Lines"

Make sure the the units are set to inches, and the format is in portrait.

Go to: File > Open > Go to the Shared P: Drive > Handouts > Craft > Introduction > Level 2, and open the "1 Lines Level B Template".

  1. After this opens in Adobe Illustrator, you need press F7 to open the Layers Pallett.
  2. After the Layers Pallett is ope,n you need to click in the upper right sub menue and click "New Layer"
  3. After you have opened a new layer, you need to click on the box next to the "eye" in layer 1 to lock the layer.

Using the pen tool duplicate all three lines on the page. Each pink square represents where you should "click" to add a point. If there are no lines or handles on the point, it is a click only. If there are lines or handles, the lines indicate the direction and approximate length of the click and drag.

 

Line 1 will be clicks only

Line 2 will be click and drags

Line 3 will be click and drags using the alt key.

Line 4 will be a combination of clicks, click and drags, and click and drag with the alt key.

Flames will be a combination of clicks, click and drags, and click and drag with the alt key.

 

**Remember, to change direction of a secondary curve you need to hold down the Alt key while keeping down the mouse button.
