2 Shapes
Open Adobe Illustrator
After you open Adobe Illustrator, open a new file. Title the file "2 Shapes"
Make sure the the units are set to inches, and the format is in portrait.
After you open Adobe Illustrator Go to: File > Open > Go to the Shared P: Drive > Handouts > Craft > Introduction > Level 2, and open the 2 shapes template.
- After this opens, you need press F7 to open the Layers Pallett.
- After the Layers Pallett is open, you need to click in the upper right sub menue and click "New Layer"
- After you have opened a new layer, you need to click on the box next to the "eye" in layer 1 to lock the layer.
Shapes
Using the shapes option in the toolbar on the left, duplicate the shapes on the page. Remember you can draw perfect circles and squares by holding the shift key as you drag. You can also draw a shape from the middle by holding the alt key as you drag. Holding the shift and alt key as you drag does both previous operations at the same time.
Polygons and Stars
To create polygons and stars of different configurations you will start by choosing the appropriate shape in the dialogue box. Insted of clicking and dragging start by clicking on the page which opens a second dialogue box that offers an option for the number of points on a star, or the number of sides on a polygon.
